Award-winning GEN-I’s Div-ee-ap Application Built on AceBlock Infrastructure

Gen-I used Netis’ blockchain framework AceBlock to develop the Div-ee-ap application, allowing users to quickly and directly share charging infrastructure for e-vehicles. At the 13th summit of innovation in energy, the app ranked first among the registered solutions.

The Div-ee-ap application enables easy sharing of the charging infrastructure for e-vehicles via a specially designed platform, allowing users to share their charging station with others for free or for a fee. In other words, using different levels of authorization, we can enable peer-to-peer e-vehicle charging and thus establish a public-private e-charging infrastructure, all in one place.

To meet these requirements for Gen-I, we have adapted our blockchain framework AceBlock, using the following modules: the AceID module for self-sovereign identity (SSI), the AceSpace module for the use of decentralized and distributed data storage, and AceIoT module, which allows the use of the framework at the level of IoT devices.

How does it work? The user creates their secure identity and then connects the application to the selected charging station via the QR code. Later, its owner or operator determines how the charging will occur (free or paid). Besides, we also incorporated the Stripe application to enable payment with universal currency.

This way, we have ensured that signing in to the application is easy and secure for the user while only taking a few steps. Most importantly, the charging station is also equipped with a secure identity, enabling direct (peer-to-peer) communication between the user and the charging infrastructure, thus ensuring the maximum level of security. As seen above, decentralized technologies simplify mutual contractual relations, enable more transparent and fairer operations between all contracting parties and ensure data security of the entire infrastructure.

Now, the Div-ee-ap application is gaining relevant traction, as it was ranked first among the announced solutions at the 13th Summit of Energy Innovators, which took place last October.

Also, the solution is already working at Ocean Orchids and their employees’ homes as a demo site of the demonstration project. In contrast, in the following stages of development, its performance will be tested in a multi-user environment.

In a broader aspect, the set of technological solutions is connected to the “E-mobility” product, which will enable the simultaneous charging of a more significant number of vehicles and at the same time reduce the congestion of the existing electrical system with the help of algorithms for Dynamic Load Management.

Together, the project connects several high-tech companies (Ocean Orchids doo, GEN-I, doo, Metron Institute, ENERDAT – S, doo, DS Meritve, doo, Telemach doo, Inden doo, Resalta doo), which participated in the public tender DEMO PILOTI II 2018 and received co-financing of EUR 1.2 million to apply ideas, knowledge and experience for innovative solutions in integrating the growing number of electrified vehicles and renewable energy sources (RES) into the existing electricity grid.
